Internet tariffs to reduce 60 percent in Azerbaijan

From Sept. 1, Delta Telecom (initial provider)will reduce internet tariffs for providers up to 110 manat per 1 Mbit compared to current 275 manat, Deputy Communication Minister Elmir Velizade said.
In its turn, it will reduce Iinternet tariffs for ultimate users.

Capacity of Delta Telecom's channels is 1.6 Tbit / s

Today, subscribers' costs for high-speed ADSL access vary from 30 manat -1 Mbit / s up to 360 manat - 3072/1024 Kbit/s depending on the selected tariff plan.

Previously internet tariffs were lowered on Jan. 15, 2009 by the Tariff Council.

Prices, for putting intra-digital channels (ports) into exploitation at a speed of 2 Mbit/s, were reduced for organizations (excluding budget organizations) from 1,200 to 600 manat (50 percent), and monthly fee for use of these channels - from 320 to 300 manat (6.3 percent) by the Tariff Council.
