Azerbaijani expedition team successfully conducts scientific research on Mount Kilimanjaro

On their way members of the expedition studied samples of underground rocks which are on the surface as a result of the active Kibo volcano. They researched different valuable biological samples from the territory and also conducted meteorological and geological observations.

Members of the expedition researched the biological variety in each climatic zone by collecting unique photos and video material of birds, mammals and other fauna throughout the route, said the message posted on the Web site of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.

The first Azerbaijani expedition team headed by the Minister of Environment and Natural Resources and President of the Air and Extreme Sports Federation Huseyn Bagirov reached the Uhuru peak of Mount Kilimanjaro on August 16. The team in on way back to home after reaching the highest peak in Africa.
