Azerbaijan has set out to build the highest complex automatic metrological station in Europe.
Azerbaijan conducts preliminary work to build two highest complex automatic metrological stations in Europe on the top of Tufandag (4,192 meters) and Shahdag (4,250 meters) mountains as a constituent part of the Complex Hydro Meteorological and Ecological Scientific Research Center to be established in future, Azerbaijani Ecological and Natural Resources Minister Huseyn Bagirov said.

The Center of Metrological Conditions and Glaciers Observation and Careful Study of Flora and Fauna is being constructed at a height of 3,000 meters above sea level to realize the Complex Hydro Meteorological and Ecological Scientific Research Center project in the territory of the Tufandag and Shahdag mountains.

Moreover, web-cameras will be installed in different places of this territory enabling us to gather valuable information and each Azerbaijani citizen to see these frames via internet. Solar and wind generations will operate in autonomous regime to ensure the complex's uninterrupted work, Bagirov added.
