Civil Solidarity Party congratulates Azerbaijani people

30 December 2008 [16:02] - TODAY.AZ
The Civil Solidarity Party has congratulated Azerbaijani people on the Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis, reports Day.Az with reference to the press service for the party.
In its statement the party congratulates all compatriots on this remarkable day.

"The split people and country have not been able to unite for many years. In the 19th century, in the result of Russia's policy, aimed to expand its lands by military way, Azerbaijani territory was divided and a part of our country went to Iran. And today about 35 mln of our compatriots live in the northwestern part of Iran.

Through 180 years after signing the Turkmenchay treaty, which divided our country into two parts, there have been repeated attempts to unite Azerbaijan.

Many brave sons and daughters of Azerbaijan sacrificed their lives, another part of the population, subject to repressions by Iranian regime, was obliged to leave their lands. On this remarkable day we wish unity and prosperity to the whole Azerbaijani people", says the statement.

The party is chaired by deputy of Milli Medjlis and chairman of the World Azerbaijanis Congress Sabir Rustamkhanly.
