Census enumeration to be held in Azerbaijan next year

State Statistical Committee is due to conclude preparation for census of the population to be held on April 13, 2009, Head of State Statistical Committee’s Office Ziyad Abbasaliyev told APA.
To him, 2009 census of the population will differ from previous one according to questions and period. While previous one lasted eight days, current census would last ten days. While there were 21 questions, this one reached 35 questions. The questions made on opinions of relevant organizations and recommendations of the UN will cover geographical, demographic, economic, social, ethnic cultural condition of population. About 19.000 persons will deliver surveys to apartments. One person will interrogate 450 people.

Temporary citizens will be involved in census of population. Unlike permanent citizens, they will receive short–form surveys. They will fulfill personal, educational information and reason of arrival in Azerbaijan.

The census will conclude in 2011.

8 million 700.000 people live in Azerbaijan at present.
