Person on trial accuses Azerbaijan's Prosecutor General during court hearing in Baku

Internally displaced person from Fizuli Zaur Khaziyev, accused of killing his brother-in-law Fadai Xeynalov, father-in-law of Javanshir Zeynalov and injuring five persons, made sensational announcements in the Court of Grave Crimes today, said Day.Az correspondent, visiting the court.

At today's hearing Jamaladdin Muradov spoke as a victim and announced that on the day of the crime he visited his brother and then went home.

"On hearing the screams coming out from the neighbor house, I decided to go and see what was going in the house. As the iron gates were close, I crossed over the fence and came into the flat.

Mehrivan Mirzoyeva, who was in the flat, told me that Zaur Khasiyev is beating all of the family members. Then I saw Zaur himself who was wandering about the rooms with a knife in his hand", said Muradov.

In an outrage, Zaur Khasiyev accused victim Jamaladdin Muradov of being the real guilty of the tragedy.

"My brother-in-law and father-in-law were killed by Javanshir Muradov, who also injured other family members. I am not guilty. This person is lying and trying to mislead the judges.

I ask you to investigate this fact, for my destiny is being defined here. Why should I be imprisoned, if the real murderer is here?", said Khasiyev.

Victim Muradov refuted all the accusations, Khasiyev addressed to him.

"Respected judges, I want to inform you that Jamaladdin Muradov, who is a real murderer and who is now free, gave $65,000 to prosecutor of the Beylagan region Allahverdi Safarov in order to avoid persecution.

Allahverdi Safarov gave $11,000 to prosecutor general of Azerbaijan Zakir Garalov", said Khaziyev.

In order to observe the principle of pluralism of opinions, the Day.Az correspondent contacted prosecutor of  Beylagan region Allahverdi Safarov, who said the following:

"The state pays a good salary to us and, therefore, I do not need to take bribes from anyone to imprison a person, who is not guilty. I consider that Khaziyev is insane and he does not control himself.

He earlier said that I took $10,000 and now he says that I took $65,000.

His statements are groundless and he is lying. The information that I gave $11,000 to Zakir Garalov is also false".
