Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry held a meeting with representatives of the CE directorate on culture and cultural heritage for preparation of the mission for investigation of facts in Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Welcoming the guests, chief of department of Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry on external policy planning Tofiq Musayev stressed importance of drawing attention of the world community to the problem of termination of cultural monuments in the occupied lands.
"Azerbaijan does everything possible for assessment of the situation with Azerbaijani cultural monuments in the occupied lands and in Armenia. PACE and Azerbaijan have had long-lasting talks for sending a mission to the region to investigate facts of termination of cultural memorials in the occupied lands", said Musayev.
Books were distributed and 15 minute documentary regarding situation with cultural monuments in the occupied lands was demonstrated to the CE representatives. It was noted that there are 1891 cultural monuments in the occupied lands, including 738 memorials, 28 museums, 4 picture galleries, 14 memorial complexes and 1107 cultural complexes.
It was noted that the mosques, locating in the occupied lands, are in a poor state and Armenians hold cattle there.
Thanking representatives of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry for detailed information, chief of the CE directorate for culture and cultural heritage Robert Palmer noted that Azerbaijan and Armenia have presented their reports on the said problem and it is now necessary to hold technical training for sending expert mission to investigate the facts to the region.
Palmer announced that Azerbaijan should prepare a list of memorials, which should be visited.
He noted that if these lists are ready until late July, the CE mission on investigation facts may visit the region in September.
