Head of South Azerbaijanis leader Mahmudali Chohraganli’s election office killed

Azerbaijani human rights activist Afshin Irfan Khosrovshahi was killed in Iran.
Sources in Iran told APA that Khosrovshahi’s body was found in his office in Tabriz three days ago.

He was reportedly strangled. The witnesses say that officers of Iranian Information Ministry were in the office of human rights activist a few minutes before the murder. The people attending his burial confirmed that there were signs of violence on the body.

Afshin Irfan Khosrovshahi headed the election office of leader of South Azerbaijan National Awakening Movement Mahmudali Chohraganli, who was nominated for the parliamentary elections in Iran in 1996. He was arrested after Chohraganli left Iran and later released.
