Week of Greek culture kicks off in Baku

Opening of the Week of Greece was held at the Park Hyatt Baku hotel in the capital of Azerbaijan.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Greek ambassador to Azerbaijan Temistokles Dimidis announced that the trade-economic relations between the two countries are not on the desired level and do not comply with the existing potential.

The ambassador said that the purpose of holding the week is to inform about the economic potential of Greece.

"Greece is an ancient country and at the same time it has a modern economic potential. Locating between three continents, Greece plays a role of a bridge between them".

He also announced that the week will allow to familiarize with Greek cuisine, Greek music and tastes of the Greek people.

The guests, participating at the event, were allowed to taste food of Greek cuisine, prepared by head-cook of the Hyatt Regency hotel of Saloniki city Ioanis Shasiotis from the products, supplied from Greece.

A lottery, whose winners got prizes from companies, organizing the week and got a chance to visit Greece, was also raffled off.
