Resident of Yardimly region, Azerbaijan carried embryo of her twin sister in her body for 15 years

The due announcement was made by Rafik Kerimov, candidate of medical scientist, scientific leader of department of chest surgery under the Scientific Institute of Pulmonary Diseases, according to Day.Az.

"Initially, she was diagnosed with pretense of echinococcus (in lungs and liver), yet the dissection revealed an alien body, which turned out to be an underdeveloped embryo, to doctors' astonishment", said Kerimov.

Doctors revealed an embryo of 15 cm in length and 5-6 cm in width in the left part of the patient's chest. It has been removed.

It was revealed that the girl's mother was expecting twins, yet only one girl was born. It became clear that the second child developed inside the first.

The doctor noted that the girl has no problems with health and she feels well.
