Imprisoned reporter Eynulla Fatullayev's case to be considered in European Court of Human Rights

The case of Eynulla Fatullayev, editor-in-chief of Realny Azerbaijan and Gundelik Azerbaijan newspapers will be considered in the European Court of Human rights.
The due announcement was made by members of the Monitoring committee of human rights organizations of Azerbaijan at a press conference on Monday, according to Novosti-Azerbaijan.

"The issue of imprisoned reporters-Eynulla Fatullayev, editor-in-chief and reporter of Azadlyg opposition newspaper Ganimat Zahid and Mirza Sakir was discussed at the session of the PACE Monitoring Committee", said human rights activists Saida Gojamanly, Novella Jafaroghlu and Saadat Bananyarli.

They said the participants of meetings held in Strasburg widely discussed the situation, established around one more Azadlyg representative Agil Halil.

"Representatives of the PACE Monitoring Committee pay special attention to sick prisoners as well as imprisoned former ministers of health and economic development Ali Insanov and Farhad Aliyev, who are illegally detained in isolated wards in the investigation isolator of the Ministry of National Security", Bananyarli noted.

She also added that the Council of Europe is seriously anxious about the failure of the Azerbaijani authorities to release reports on facts of tortures, applied by the law-enforcement bodies and places of prisoners detention.

She said similar situation is also observed in Russia, where due reports are also not released.
