59 hunting rifles confiscated in Lenkoran, Azerbaijan

According to the Lenkoran department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the prophylactic measures against avian flu were intensified in the last quarter of 2007.

59 hunting rifles were confiscated and 1200 gamebirds gathered together and terminated in the result of these measures. It was revealed that 8 of the confiscated rifles are used illegally.

Moreover, 53 acts and 51 protocols were compiled for violation of the law "On fauna".

48 citizens were imposed a fine in the amount of AZN 3166.
