President Aliyev participates in the opening of newly-built road

Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev today participated in the opening of 28.9-km road in Zabrat-Balakhani-Mehdiabad-Khirdalan-Binegedi circle in the framework of the project of reconstruction of the roads around Baku.

President was informed that 80,000 tonnes of asphalt have been used in the construction of the road built within two months. Akkord Group of Companies implemented the order of the Transport Ministry. AZN11mln. has been spent on the construction of the road.

Ilham Aliyev drove to village Binagadi on the newly-built road. The President met with the people and addressed to them. He said he will do his best to improve the people's welfare. The head of state underlined that three state programs are being implemented separately for the development of Baku, regions and settlement around Baku. He said the development of the settlements around Baku is very important.

"I am controlling over the development of these settlements. About 700,000 people live here," the president said.

Ilham Aliyev stated that he will report to the people on his five-year presidency on October 5, 2008.

"Great activities have been carried out in education, economic, social, cultural and health spheres in Azerbaijan. I will report to the people about it," he said. APA
