Volleyball Federation plans to hold international tournament

AVF press secretary Zohrab Gozelbeyli told APA-Sport the tournament is expected to be organized in Baku Sport Palace or Guba Olympic Complex.

The federation has already addressed to the world and European championship winners Russia, Brazil, Italy, Cuba, Netherlands, Turkey and Poland.

He said 12 countries have been invited to the tournament. Press secretary noted that 8 teams-participating in the tournament will be composed of two groups.

"But it has not been defined whether the competition will take place. It depends on the schedule of the invited teams. We want to hold the competition before the European championship, which is to start in September," he said.
