Number of beggars double in Baku this year

Baku Main Police Office Public Security Department detained 2 194 beggars in Baku and deported them to the regions they came.

The department chief Shamil Seyidli informs that 497 of these beggars are minors.

He also said that the detained baggers are 1189 people or twice more than last year's, the number of beggars detained in the second quarter is 50% more than those detained in the first quarter.

They are chiefly from Aghdash, Aghsu, Barda and Balaken. They were sent to their regions by bus.

He said that the measures taken have yielded results and the number of beggars has sharply fallen in Baku, APA reports.
