03 March 2006 [08:58] - TODAY.AZ
Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry (ENRM) press service announced that ENRM Caspian Sea Ecology Monitoring Department monitored the facilities near the shore. During the monitoring agricultural waste water was found flowing directly or indirectly to the Caspian Sea.

"Poisonous waste water of Caspian Ship Company subsidiary agriculture joins "Kasparchay" and flows into the Caspian Sea without purification. Although the volume of the water decreased compared to the previous years, it remains poisonous. Nitrites, ammonium ion, SSAM matters exceeded the norm many times and ecotoxicology analyses show that the water have poisonous matters causing death of organisms 100%".

The information says that ecology is unbearable in seaside Agriculture Area in "Kimyachilar" settlement in Sumgait.

This territory was used for purpose of cattle-breeding formerly. Swine-breeding, cattle-breeding and poultry are developing here and wastes are thrown to the shore.

Since the sewerage system of Heydar Aliyev Supreme Military School doesn't function, waste water flows to the Caspian Sea and makes the shore marshy, APA reports.
