AIOC informs on Chirag

The Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC) produced 7.083 million tons of oil from the Chirag, which is part of Azerbaijan’s major Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli offshore field, in 2005, including 618,000 tons in December, BP Azerbaijan said. Last year’s output exceeded the 2004 figure by 518,000 tons. The daily production from the field in December made up 155,000 barrels.

There are currently 20 wells on the Chirag platform, including 14 production and 6 water injection wells. AIOC is expected to start drilling another well in mid-2006.
