Illegal trade of counterfeit pesticides revealed

The State Phytosanitary Control Service under the Azerbaijani Agriculture Ministry has strengthened supervision over the sale of pesticides, biological preparations and agrochemicals.
The Service announced on February 18 that there was revealed an illegal trade of counterfeit pesticides in the country.

The investigation revealed facts of sale of French preparation "Kurzat", in the cities of Barda and Jalilabad.

"Samples of the preparation were sent to laboratory testing. The results showed that the percentage of active ingredient in them is below normal, which proves the forgery of the drug," the Service reported.

The Collected materials have been submitted to the Prosecutor’s General Office.

The effects of using such chemicals can be devastating, as they may contain untested ingredients, threatening the health of consumers.
