Despite the fact that pessimists will not stop complaining that the summer is coming to an end, it seems like the weather has other plans in store.

The hot summer sun will keep us all warm throughout August, when the average temperature in Azerbaijan will be close to, and in some places will exceed, the climate norm.

The average monthly precipitation will also be close to normal, and will probably exceed average rainfalls in some places.

Baku and Absheron peninsula will see average monthly temperatures of 25-27 degrees Celsius (22-27 degrees at night, 30-35 degrees in the afternoon, and 38-41 degrees on some days in the first half of the month) for August, which is close to the climate norm and only exceeds it by one degree. In other words, you can spend those hot summer days on shores of the Caspian Sea, drinking cold beverages and taking in the sun.

However, Deputy Director of the Institute of Geography, Elbrus Alizade, warns that a lack of moisture and hot, dry weather are leading to dry forests and forest-steppe zones and are a huge fire hazard. A small spark can set off a big fire!

So, keep a sunscreen near you and be careful with your lighter!
