Azerbaijan has been elected a member of the Consultative Council in Charge of Implementing the Cultural Strategy for the Islamic World.
The Saudi city of Medina, which was elected Islamic World's Cultural Capital for 2013, hosted the Eighth Islamic Conference of Culture Ministers on January 21-23, 2014.
The conference was organized by the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO).
Azerbaijan was represented at the conference by a delegation led by the Culture and Tourism Minister, Abulfaz Garayev, according to Azerbaijani Culture and Tourism Ministry.
The ministers held a round-table meeting titled 'Promotion of Cultural Rights in the Muslim World in the Service of Dialogue and Peace'.
The countries' representatives and director general on implementation of the cultural strategy for the Islamic World presented their reports.
