New highway is under construction

A Masalli-Astara-Iran border road project is to be realized under the project on construction of the Alat-Astara-Iran border highway, OJSC Azeryolservis of the Azerbaijani Transport Ministry reported.
 
Under the project, the length of the4-lane road is 62 km and width - 15 meters. The project also stipulates construction of 20 bridges and crossings, laying of pipes of various diameters.  The work  was launched in December 2010 and should be completed in December 2014. The project is financed by the Government of Azerbaijan and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
