
According to the National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, currently water richness holds 65-145% of decade norm in the rivers of Major Caucasus, 95-165% in the rivers of Minor Caucasus, 35-50% in the rivers of Lankaran-Astara zone, while 40-45% in the rivers of Nakhichevan AR.
Current condition in the transit rivers
Water consumption holds 450 m3/sec, i.e. 63% of decade norm (in 2011, 118%, being 843 m3/sec) in Giragkasaman settlement of Kura river, while 175 m3/sec, i.e. 98% of decade norm (in 2011, 96%, being 170 m3/sec) in Ayrichay settlement of Ganikh river.
Current condition in the downstream of Kura river
At present, water level holds 467 cm (On April 30, 2011, 714 cm) in Surra settlement, 384 cm (On April 30, 2011, 619 cm) in Shirvan region, 333 cm (On April 30, 2011, 531 cm) in Salyan region, 267 cm (On April 30, 2011, 366 cm) in Banka settlement, while 195 cm (On April 30, 2011, 440 cm) in Novruzlu settlement of Aras river.
