Bright colors of Novruz Holiday - Art Khonchas - PHOTOS

Baku hosts an unusual event, as one of the halls in the Kempinski Hotel Badamdar has blossomed with bright colors of the Novruz Holiday. An exhibition and sale of Art Khonchas -a big silver or copper tray with Samani placed in the centre, holiday sweets and candles- and Novruz attributes is organized here by artist and connoisseur of the Azerbaijani national traditions Irada Amiraslanova.
 
The exhibition presents 41 khonchas. Some 30 of them were made by Amiraslanova and the rest with the participation of her students. Amiraslanova believes each woman can do this. “The main thing is intention,” she said.
 
She said the reason for creating Art konchas was a great desire to fix the Azerbaijani National Novruz ornaments and traditional elements, as well as to sweetly decorate the holiday table.
