Azerbaijan, Russia discuss legal cooperation

Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan Zakir Garalov met Friday Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin. The discussions focused on the current state of and prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russian in legal sphere. Garalov said Azerbaijan attaches importance to strengthening cooperation with Russia in legal field. He said Azerbaijan-Russia friendly and partnership relations are of great importance for cooperation between the two countries` law-enforcement bodies.

Bastrykin, in turn, said good prospects exist to deepen legal cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia. He noted Russia is interested in boosting relations with Azerbaijan in concrete areas.
As part of his working visit to Azerbaijan, Bastrykin also participated in the presentation of the book entitled “Crime and Punishment” by Honored Lawyer, Professor Ilham Rahimov in Baku State University.
