Azerbaijan Press Council, OSCE office mull coop

Chairman of Azerbaijan Press Council Aflatun Amashov has met head of the OSCE Baku Office Koray Targay. Amashov briefed Targay on the activity of the Council, whose major goal is to regulate media-society and media-government relations.

“The Press Council attaches a particular importance to relations with international organizations.” He hailed cooperation between the Azerbaijan Press Council and the OSCE Baku Office. Targay stressed the importance of speeding up the adoption of the law on Defamation.

They also discussed a number of issues, including expansion of cooperation and organization of a conference on internet journalism with the participation of international experts.
