Azerbaijan`s scientists visit UK

Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), MP, professor Govhar Bakhshaliyeva was on a research secondment in the United Kingdom`s cities London and Oxford. The aim of the visit implemented as part of the grant project of the Science Development Foundation under the President of Azerbaijan Republic was the search for ancient maps proving Azerbaijan`s historical territory in UK`s libraries.

The Azeri scientist found some ancient maps connected with Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity among the ones on the Caucasus, Asia, Near and Far East and Russia. Some maps were copied while other ones` electronic versions were ordered. Govhar Bakhshaliyeva took codes of handwritings which are likely to be related to the Azerbaijani history. The scientific research is underway.
