10 January 2012 [18:54] - TODAY.AZ
An investigation launched was launched following a video showing traffic police officers taking bribes posted in the Internet. The officers work for the Baku State Traffic Police Department, chief State Traffic Police Office official Kamran Aliyev said.

"The investigation will define names of the officers," Aliyev said. Over 30 traffic police officers were dismissed from interior bodies because of corruption offences in 2011, Mr Aliyev said.
Information on traffic police officers who committed corruption offences was sent also to the Prosecutor General's Office, which launched investigations.

To ensure transparency in this field, amendments were made to the legislation. According to these amendments 25 per cent of funds arising from payment of fines are added to the wages of traffic police officers.
