Chess classes will be organized in Azerbaijani schools

Azerbaijani Education Minister Misir Mardanov signed an order on Dec.28, under which the chess classes will be organized in secondary schools as a separate educational discipline from this month.

“Roughly 75 teachers from 75 schools will teach the second grade students. Teachers will pass two-day seminars in this regard, “Head of educational and extra-curricular department under the Education Ministry Agababa Ibrahimov said. 

“The result of this work will be analyzed by late 2012,” he said. The organization of the chess classes is being carried out as a part of the State program on the development of chess in Azerbaijan in 2009 -2014.”
