'City of Future' to appear in Azerbaijan - PHOTOS

Azerbaijan will soon once again surprise the world with its next ambitious project. The Caspian Island ("Xazar adaları") to be built on the sea will not yield to Hawaii. ANS TV channel provided exclusive photos of the magnificent city, which is planned to be erected on artificial islands. Thus, after 25 years we will be lucky to see this grandiose city on the waves of the Caspian Sea. But some of it we can see already in 2016...

The project is called "Xazar Island" and it has no analogue in the world, as the city will be constructed on artificial island and stretch 8 km on the sea.

The City of Future designed for one million people is expected to be completed in 25 years. Construction work is currently underway. Part of the city road has already been covered with asphalt and a number of restaurants and buildings are already under construction. Some 10 percent of the city is expected to be commissioned by 2016.  It means that 100,000 people will be able to live here in  the first stage. It should be noted that the cost of living in a new city is not to be small. One square meter of housing here will cost a minimum of 3,500 manat. Those who wish to purchase housing here will benefit from the mortgage without registration at the banks. Project author Ibrahim Ibragimov expressed confidence that the "Caspian Island" will cause a stir around the world.
