Iranian top official congratulates Muslim countries on occasion of Ramadan

Iranian Parliamentary Speaker Ali Larijani has sent congratulatory letters to the parliamentary speakers of Muslim countries on occasion of the beginning of Ramadan, the Iranian news agency MEHR reported.

Ramadan is the month of friendship and unity for the Muslim peoples, the congratulatory letter reads.

"I congratulate all the Muslim nations with the beginning of Ramadan. Revival of the Islamic movement heralds a prosperous future for Muslim nations and the overthrow of the enemies of Islam into the darkness," the letter reads.

Ramadan month will begin on Aug.1 this year on the Gregorian calendar.
