Russian tourist declared brain dead after alcohol poisoning in Turkey

A Russian tourist who was poisoned by bootlegged alcohol she drank during a yacht tour in Bodrum at the beginning of May was pronounced brain dead Monday, reports said.

Viktoria Nikoloeva, 22, was among a group of 14 tourists who were poisoned from the illegally manufactured alcohol they consumed.

Nikoloeva was being kept at an intensive care unit at the Mediterranean Hospital before losing all brain function Monday.

Four other Russians have died during the past month from the same poisoning incident.
