Iran executes two people

Two people have been executed in Firdaus square in the Iranian town of Nishapur today, Trend reported with reference to asriran.com website.

According to the information, the Nishapur prosecutor Mahmoud Rafsanjani reported that M. Mahammad and E. Muhtar were accused of rape.

Rafsanjani added that the accused people dressed up as policemen and entered the house. They threatened the women by a khife and raped them.

According to media outlets, over 155 people have been executed in Iran from early 2011 till now. Over 90 people accused of drug smuggling and rape have been executed.

The UN and Amnesty International have repeatedly demanded from Iran to stop executions. Human rights activists state that the number of executions in Iran is more than the official statistics.
