Iran, Armenia to finalize FTA

Iran and Armenia will sign a free trade agreement (FTA) during the Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan's upcoming visit to Tehran.
During the meeting held between Armenian Economy Minister Nerses Yeritsyan and Iranian Commerce Minister Mehdi Ghazanfari, the two sides discussed possible ways to boost bilateral trade cooperation, IRNA reported.

The Armenian prime minister will arrive in Tehran on Monday.

Tehran presented the draft of FTA to enhance the two-way transactions to Yerevan in August 2009.

Armenia's trade value with foreign countries stands at $3 billion, while the nation's trade value with Iran accounts for the $300 million of the mentioned figure.

Iran and Armenia's bilateral trade value stood at $45 million during the first four months of current Iranian calendar year (started March 20, 2010). Tehran's exports to Yerevan accounted for $31 million of the mentioned amount.
