Turkey's national air carrier has launched direct flights from Istanbul to Bologna, Italy, the airline said in a statement on Monday.
The Turkish Airlines (THY) will fly round-trips seven days a week between the two cities.

Direct flights to Bologna bring up the total number of THY's international destinations to 120, the company said.

The airline said it would book in March round-trip tickets at prices starting from 115 euros (taxes and fees excluded).

THY is one of the fastest growing air carriers in Europe. The Istanbul-based airline is using Istanbul's Ataturk Airport as a hub for flights to Europe, Asia and Africa in partnership with the Star Alliance group of airlines.

The number of THY's passengers in last month was up by 26 percent over the same period last year to reach 2 million.

THY's occupancy rate increased by 3.2 percent on a year-on-year basis and reached 68.6 percent last month.
