Iranian Health Minister: Iran, Azerbaijan to expand experience exchange

Iranian Health Minister Marziya Vahid Dastjerdi said nothing is hindering Baku and Tehran from developing their health sectors and expanding cooperation in this sphere.

Dastjerdi, who is on a visit to Baku, told Trend News that Azerbaijan and Iran are cooperating strongly in health and medicine.

"Many Azerbaijani citizens visit Iran to receive treatment and we are trying to help them with their health," she said.

Dastjerdi also emphasised that the Iranian Health Ministry, Red Cross and NGOs are working to intensify cooperation between the two countries.

"Probably, we will intensify our cooperation, experience and services," the minister said.

She also added that Iranian students are also studying at Azerbaijani universities.

The minister noted Azerbaijan's special importance to the country, underscoring that Iranian medical center and hospitals bordering Azerbaijan have enormous potential.
