02 February 2010 [17:42] - TODAY.AZ
Kaan Soyak said on Tuesday that 300 million USD of trade volume between Turkey and Armenia was a success.
Turkish-Armenian Business Development Council (TABDC) Co-Chairman Kaan Soyak said on Tuesday that 300 million USD of trade volume between Turkey and Armenia was a success.

Speaking to A.A, Soyak recalled that Armenian Chamber of Commerce announced the trade volume between the two countries as 300 million USD in 2009.

Noting that TABDC calculated the trade volume as 150 million USD, Soyak said that World Bank predicted this figure as 200 million USD.

He said that the trade between Armenia and Turkey was made via third countries like Georgia and Iran. He added that it was difficult to calculate a certain trade figure.

There is no official trade between Turkey and Armenia as the borders between the two countries are not open.

Turkey and Armenia signed protocols on October 10, 2009 to normalize relations between the two countries.
