Iran is seeking to strike a deal with the Republic of Azerbaijan to import gas supplies from this country on the basis of annual agreements, an Iranian official announced on Sunday.
"Next week, We will strive to place on our agenda negotiations on the finalization of an annual agreement to come closer to final results while conducting a study over the infrastructures required for transferring gas from that country to Iran," Managing Director of the National Iranian Gas Export Company (NIGEC) Seyed Reza Kassaeizadeh told FNA.
Tehran and Baku signed a memorandum of understanding on the transfer of gas supplies to Iran from 2010.
