Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a Cabinet meeting on May 24 that he had offered the country’s president to dismiss Chief of the General Staff Movses Hakobyan, RIA Novosti reported.

“I suggested that the president dismiss the Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces in connection with his transfer to another job,” Pashinyan said.

Pashinyan noted that the decision was made by mutual agreement.

“A new Chief of the General Staff will be appointed today,” the prime minister added.
