Kazakhstan familiarizes with Finnish model of effective and economic use of energy within the Finnish Energy Forum held in Astana.

Director of the Finnish Business Hub Mukhtar Mankeyev stated that the Finnish model implies efficient energy use, in which the country is the world's leader,Kazinform reports.

He noted that in order to enter the world's top 30 developed countries, Kazakhstan intends to use Finland's experience, adding that in the framework of the Forum today, administration of Astana city will sign a memorandum of cooperation with the Finnish Energy Club aimed at getting access to Finnish energy-efficient technologies, including through joint scientific seminars and exchanges.

“The Finnish model is intended to save and effectively use the energy. And we use the electric power haphazardly, without account, as you know. Finland extricated itself from the unnecessary expenditures long ago. We have the same centralized heat supply system, but the rates of the energy consumption are totally different. That’s why we intend to organize joint training seminars and the visits of Kazakh companies’ representatives to Finland for the exchange of experience,” said Mankeev.

Among the participants of the Forum are 11 Finnish companies that successfully implemented efficiency principles, as well as representatives of a number of Kazakh Ministries and regions.

Finnish energy saving technologies are exhibited in the country's pavilion at EXPO-2017 which will be held in Astana till September 10.

Expo 2017 is  running under the theme ‘Future Energy’. This, along with the three subthemes – Reducing CO2 Emissions, Living Energy Efficiency, and Energy for All – allow the Expo to present the state of energy today and to showcase sustainable solutions and innovative technologies.

Over 20 heads of governments and 80 heads of ministries of different countries visited the exhibition which stresses the importance of this event.
