Turkmenistan offers UAE satellite TV services

Satellite company ‘Turkmen hemrasy’ CJSC is in talks with the ‘Yahlive’ company (UAE) on long-term leasing of another 14 transponders of the artificial satellite ‘TurkmenAlem 52oE’, said the Turkmen government in a message.

The relevant commercial offers have been directed to more than 70 foreign companies, according to the message.

In April it was reported that such Arab TV channels like Iqraa Arabic, Abu Dhabi TV, Al Emarat TV, Abu Dhabi Drama, Abu Dhabi National Geographic Channel, Abu Dhabi Sports 1, Abu Dhabi Sports 2, Sudan Sports HD were launched on air through the TurkmenAlem 52°E satellite.

Turkmenistan launched its first telecommunication satellite TurkmenAlem 52°E from Cape Canaveral (Florida) with the help of the US SpaceX company at 4.03 (UTC/GMT +5 hours) on April 28, 2015. Turkmen Alem 52°E” has three antennas which will cover a part of Europe, Africa and Asia - the area, where more than 1.2 billion people live.

The geographical position of Turkmenistan will allow it to act as a transit country in broadcasting channels of Europe and Asia in the presence of an artificial satellite covering large areas.
