Business activity index rises by 1.3% in Uzbekistan

The business activity index in Uzbekistan's industrial sector has increased by 1.3 percent in April 2016, as compared to March, according to the country's Center for Economic Research (CER).

The CER said that the rise in the business activity in February was a result of the 1.4 percent increase in the number of transactions on the bank accounts of business entities as compared to the previous month, 0.3 percent increase of the intensity of raw material purchases on the commodity exchange and so on.

The business activity index has been published by the Center for Economic Research since 2014. The CER was founded in 1999 with the assistance of the United Nations Development Program.
