Russia imposes control for Turkish products

Russia has introduced enhanced control for food supplies from Turkey and will conduct additional checks at the border and production sites, according to the press service of the Russian ministry of agriculture with reference to the statement of the head of the ministry Alexander Tkachev, Tass Russian news agency reported.

The government of Russia has instructed Russia's agricultural watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor to introduce strict control for supplies of agricultural products and food from Turkey, as well as to arrange additional checks at the border and at the site of production directly in the Republic of Turkey, said the message.

These measures have been introduced in connection with the repeated violations of Russian standards by Turkish producers, said the ministry of agriculture.
