Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency have held “constructive and good” talks in the Austrian capital of Vienna, according to a senior Iranian official.

Iranian nuclear negotiator Abbas Araqchi, who is Iran’s deputy foreign minister for legal and international affairs met with UN nuclear agency Chief Yukiya Amano on November 24 on how to implement a nuclear agreement reached between Iran and six world powers in July, Press TV reported.

Araqchi said based on the roadmap, Iran and the IAEA should hold a wrap-up meeting before the agency gives its final assessment on the so-called possible military dimensions.

Iran and the P5+1 group of world powers – the United States, Britain, France, China and Russia plus Germany – finalized the text of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action in Vienna on July 14.

Under the JCPOA, limits will be put on Iran’s nuclear activities in exchange for, among other things, the removal of all nuclear-related economic and financial bans against the Islamic republic.

Iran and the IAEA also signed in Vienna a roadmap regarding the Islamic Republic’s nuclear work on the same day of clinching the final nuclear accord.

Araqchi further said the IAEA would provide its final assessment to its board of governors soon.

Iran’s nuclear negotiator also discussed ways to implement a landmark nuclear deal with an official from the United States.

Araqchi held an hour-long meeting in Vienna with Stephen Mull, who is the U.S. lead coordinator for the implementation of the JCPOA.

Following his meeting with the U.S. official, Araqchi described the coming weeks as “sensitive” for the implementation of the JCPOA.

He said Iran and the P5+1 group of countries should precisely meet certain obligations required under the JCPOA.

The Iranian official expressed hope that the JCPOA would be implemented without facing any “technical problem.”

In Vienna, Araqchi met with EU Deputy Foreign Policy Chief Helga Schmid to discuss enforcement of the nuclear deal including the measures to be taken by the European side to the agreement.

Araqchi said the next meeting of the joint commission with P5+1 group of world powers on implementation of the nuclear agreement will convene in Vienna on December 7.
