Sanctions impose 20% additional import costs-Rouhani

12 October 2015 [12:43] - TODAY.AZ

International sanctions against Iran impose some 15-20 percent additional costs for import of goods, Iranian president Hassan Rouhani said.

He made the remarks in his speech during a meeting with people in the country’s northern Sari city, the State IRINN TV reported Oct. 12.

Certain people suppose that Tehran is pursuing closer ties with the West, via the nuclear talks, Rouhani said, underlining that his administration only follows the country’s interests and does not separate West and East.

“The issue which is important for us is economic growth and youth employment.”

He underlined that Iran negotiated with world powers with “courage and power” and acquired all its rights in the nuclear talks.

Iran and the P5+1 (the US, the UK, France, Russia, China and Germany) reached a comprehensive nuclear deal last July. It will curb Iran ’s nuclear program in return for lifting economic sanctions.
