Iranian parliamentary groups introduce candidates for nuclear deal committee

19 August 2015 [11:52] - TODAY.AZ

Safar Naimi Raz, spokesman of the principlist parliamentary group Rahrovan-e Velayat (followers of guardianship), said two parliamentary groups have introduced their candidates for forming a committee on Iran’s recent nuclear deal.

Accordingly, Mohammad Hossein Abutorabi Fard, Javad Jahangirzadeh, Hossein Naqavi Hosseini, Qolamreza Tajgardoon, and Abasali Mansouri Arani were elected as representatives by Rahrovan-e Velayat, Fars news agency reported August 19.

The MP said each of the groups introduces five representatives independently and then both groups will elect another group of five representatives jointly.

The committee is to be comprised of fifteen MPs and will oblige the Iranian government to accept or reject Iran’s nuclear deal.

The nuclear deal reached on July 14 (also called the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action or JCPOA) will put Iran’s nuclear program under close scrutiny by the IAEA while in return removing sanctions on Iran’s economy.

The jointly chosen representatives are Alaeddin Boroujerdi, Mansour Haqiqatpour, Mohammad Mehdi Zaheri, Esmail Kosari, and Masoud Pezeshkian.

Naimi Raz added that Mehrdad Bazrpash, Alireza Zakani, Hossein Nejabat, Ebrahim Karkhanei, and Mahmoud Nabavian have been chosen by the principlist parliamentary group.
