Iranian parliament to hold voting on agreement between P5+1 and Tehran

14 July 2015 [15:47] - TODAY.AZ

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will return to Tehran July 14 and submit the agreement between Iran and P5 +1 to the country’s parliament within a week, a source close to the talks told Sputnik agency.

“Iranian parliament will hold a voting on the agreement, after Zarif submits it to the parliament,” said the source.

The source added that the parliament meeting can be held either late this week, or early next week.

The talks held in Vienna July 13 between Iran and P5 +1 (the US, UK, France, Russia, China and Germany) ended with adoption of a joint comprehensive action plan. If Iran carries out this plan, the economic and financial sanctions earlier imposed on it by the UN Security Council, the US and EU will be lifted.

The talks between the two sides started over 10 years ago. After the adoption of an interim joint action plan in Geneva in November 2013, the discussions between Iran and P5+1 have been held in Vienna, Montreux, Lausanne and Geneva in many rounds since February 2014. The final negotiation round has lasted in Austria’s capital for over 18 days.
