02 July 2015 [13:03] - TODAY.AZ

In general, the Armenian economy will not increase this year. The year will end with zero growth.

"We do not see big growth next year," Masood Ahmed, Director of the Middle East and Central Asia Department of the International Monetary Fund, told reporters July 1.
Ahmed was commenting on the economic developments in Armenia, 1in.am website reported.

He recalled that Armenia continues experiencing the consequences of the global financial and economic crisis of 2009 and incurring losses under the negative impact of the economic crisis in Russia. The external transfers and exports reduced.

If Armenia wants to ensure the economic development, it must draw big investments.

The investments must be made through internal funds and must resolve the problems that hinder the work of small and medium-sized businesses and make investments.

IMF officials also talked about the recent actions of protest due to a rise in electricity tariffs and expressed their concern in this regard.
