Iran will nip any ISIL threat in the bud

29 May 2015 [10:47] - TODAY.AZ

Iranian Defense Minister Hossein Dehqan says the power and might of the Iranian military forces are so high that can nip any threat by the ISIL terrorist group in the bud.

The ISIL does not have the capability to pose a threat to the borders of the Islamic Republic, Iran’s IRNA news agency quoted Dehqan as saying May 28.

“The security forces of Iran monitor every move by the ISIL,” he said, adding that the power of Iranian security and military forces is so high that it can neutralize every move by the group before it starts.

On May 25, Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan, the commander of the Iranian Army’s Ground Forces, said that the country's army is prepared enough to defend and establish full security along its borders.

“All moves on the borders as well as in the region ... are being monitored,” Pourdastan added.

Meanwhile, Major General Qassem Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps whose force is responsible for protecting the Islamic Republic’s interests abroad, has said that the United States and other powers were failing to confront the ISIL, and only Iran was committed to the task, says, according to the Reuters.

“Today, in the fight against this dangerous phenomenon (ISIL), nobody is present except Iran,” he said.
