Turkmenistan, Slovenia sign transport agreement

A signing ceremony of bilateral documents, including the field of transport, took place as part of the official visit of Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov to Slovenia, Turkmen national TV channel Altyn Asyr said May 14.

In Ljubljana, the sides signed intergovernmental agreements on cooperation in the field of transport and international road communication; a program of cooperation between the foreign ministries of the two countries and several others.

President of Turkmenistan and President of Slovenia Borut Pahor signed a joint statement. The parties agreed to do everything possible to strengthen the transport and transit potential of both countries, develop an extensive transport infrastructure, form international transport corridors, ensuring optimal routes of cargo delivery from Europe to Asia and back, according to this document.

The parties mentioned energy, transport, telecommunications, chemical industry, food industry, organizing textile and carpet production supply, agriculture and other fields of mutual interest among the most promising areas of economic cooperation.
