Turkmenistan Airlines expands list of destinations

Turkmenistan Airlines (Turkmenhowayollary) is preparing to open new flights from Ashgabat to Milan (Italy), Urumqi (China), Tbilisi (Georgia), Samara and Kazan (Russia).

The company is planning to increase its number of flights from the international airport of Turkmenbashi to Istanbul (Turkey) and open regular flights from the seaside city of Aktau (Kazakhstan), the newspaper Neutral Turkmenistan reported.

"Turkmenhowayollary" significantly expanded the geography of its regular international flights. Thus, Boeing 737-800 has been flying on the route: Ashgabat-Paris-Ashgabat since the end of last year as well as to Ankara (Turkey) and Riga (Latvia).

On the Boeing-777-200LR the airline has run flights to the capital of Malaysia - Kuala Lumpur, where the citizens of Turkmenistan benefit from a visa-free entry into the country, Milan (Italy), Great Britain, Germany, Georgia, Russia and others.

An agreement concluded this year between the Turkmenistan Airlines and the Russian airline "Sibir" will significantly expand the geography of air travel for Turkmen citizens. From now on residents and guests of Turkmenistan will be able to buy tickets in Ashgabat for all flights that "Siberia" serves from Moscow to any city of the Russian Federation, where this airline flies: Novosibirsk, Abakan, Anapa, Astrakhan, Bratsk, Vladikavkaz, Volgograd, Kemerovo, Krasnoyarsk, Krasnodar, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Mineralnye Vody and many others.

In addition, it is now possible to purchase tickets to Baku (Azerbaijan), Chisinau (Moldova), Madrid (Spain), Lisbon (Portugal) and Dusseldorf (Germany).

Turkmen pilots associated the development of passenger air travel with the comfortable liners of the new generation - Boeing 777-200 LR, Boeing-737-800, Boeing 737-700. They will gradually replace the old passenger aircraft, which consists exclusively of American cars since 2000.

The State National Service "Turkmenhowayollary" was founded in May 4, 1992. "Turkmenhowayollary" has completely updated its fleet in the years since Turkmenistan independence and replaced all its Soviet aircraft equipment and acquired: Boeing-767/300, Boeing-757/200, Boeing-737/800, Boeing-737/700, Boeing-737/300, Boeing-717/200, Challenger-605, Hawker-125/1000, in accordance with data published on the official website of the Turkmen Airlines.

Currently Turkmenistan Airlines operates regular flights to 15 cities in 11 countries in Europe and Asia: Abu Dhabi, Almaty, Amritsar, Bangkok, Birmingham, Delhi, Dubai, Frankfurt, Kiev, London, Minsk, Moscow, Beijing, Istanbul, St. Petersburg and also on domestic routes between the capital and regional centers in Turkmenistan, said the official website of the Turkmen Airlines.

Turkmenistan Airlines transported more than two million passengers and about 16,000 tons of cargo in 2014.
